GUIMARAS – Travelers who wish to visit this island province, especially for the upcoming holidays, may now enter and leave without the hassle of presenting any proof that they are free from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Gov. JC Rahman A. Nava yesterday issued Executive Order (EO) No. 102, Series of 2022 which allows anyone, whether vaccinated or not, to enter the province as long as they are asymptomatic.
Also, there is no more need to fill out a health declaration form.
However, inbound travelers may be subjected to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or a rapid antigen test if deemed necessary by the authorities, the EO stated.
Moreover, all ports in the province are now open for cargoes and passengers.
Passengers and roll-on roll-off vessels are now free to operate based on their certificate of public convenience.
The provincial government eased travel protocols due to manageable COVID-19 cases.
It also wants to revive the economy by reinvigorating the island’s tourism industry. (With report from the Provincial Government of Guimaras)/PN
