DILG yet to receive Ombudsman dismissal order vs Tangub village chief

BACOLOD City – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in this city has yet to receive an order from the Office of the Ombudsman dismissing Noli Villarosa as punong barangay of Tangub for an administrative charge of simple misconduct.

DILG city director Ma. Joy Marideth Madayag said she only learned about it through Candido Medalla, the complainant, who presented to her on Nov. 29 a copy of the order.

“We have not yet received such order or an order to implement from the Office of the Ombudsman,” said Madayag.

“Once we receive the directive, the DILG is given only five days to implement it. After that, we have to submit a compliance report,” she further explained.

However, Madayag pointed out that it will be up to the Ombudsman to decide who will carry out the order, as the city mayor is also permitted to do so.

According to Madayag, Villarosa was meted out the penalty of dismissal from service for simple misconduct.

The Ombudsman decision was dated Sept. 1.

Medalla filed the complaint in 2019, alleging that Villarosa illegally removed their fence following an order from the national government on road clearing./PN
