BACOLOD City — Mayor Monico Puentevella has designated Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya as acting mayor for four days.
Puentevella is attending the 5th Annual World Cities Summit–Mayors Forum (WCSMF) in Singapore upon invitation by Singapore’s senior minister of state and WCSMF chair Lee Yi.
Gasataya’s designation was stated in Memorandum No. 081-0514. His temporary takeover started yesterday and will end on Wednesday.
This was the second time that Puentevella designated Gasataya as acting mayor. The first one was during his official trip to Hong Kong in April.
During the forum, Puentevella will present the state of water management in Bacolod.
“This is a rare privilege for us to present the challenges and opportunities facing our local water industry,” he said.
The WCSMF is organized by Singapore’s Center for Livable Cities and Urban Redevelopment Authority.
It is an exclusive, by-invitation-only global platform for city leaders to discuss pressing challenges and share best practices.
Puentevella thanked the government of Singapore and the Summit organizers for choosing Bacolod as a participant./PN
