ANTIQUE – More than 1,000 residents of Pandan town in this province affected by Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” each received P2,000 cash assistance on Monday, Dec. 12.
Mayor Tomas U. Estoperez Jr. led the cash distribution at the Liberman Sports Complex. The aid was part of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and of the provincial government.
Estoperez reminded Pandanons to spend their money wisely.
“Gastuson natun kang husto ang aton kwarta, kag ang gobyerno nagapangita gid pirme it pamaagi nga mag hagan-hagan ang aton pangalisud,” the mayor said.
In addition, he assured everyone that the local government continues to find ways to provide additional assistance to the victims of “Paeng”.
Also present during the distribution of cash assistance were the personnel from DSWD-Antique, Pandan Municipal Social Welfare Development Office, Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team Antique, Municipal Link 4Ps, and the Social Pension DSWD workers./PN
