SAN JOSE, Antique – A special satellite registration was conducted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the San Jose District Jail in Barangay 8 in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique last week.
Comelec-San Jose catered to 73 registrants, of which 11 were new voters, 59 applied for transfer of registration records, and three applied for transfer with reactivation.
PDLs went through the same registration process as regular registrants, including filling out registration forms and providing biometrics.
Furthermore, precautionary measures on COVID-19 health protocols were observed.
Aside from the district jail, a special satellite registration will also be conducted by Comelec-San Jose at San Pedro National High School in Barangay San Pedro on Jan. 16, 2023, and Robinsons Place on Jan. 9 to 13, 2023, for vulnerable sectors such as persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and Indigenous People./PN
