ANTIQUE – In Bugasong town, 262 persons with disabilities (PWDs) were given temporary employment through the BUHAYNIHAN: Buhay at Bayanihan para sa Mamamayan (BBM), Cash for Work Program (CFW) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS).

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is the implementing agency of the CFW program.

Each worker received P450 per day for 10 days for community work rendered such as clearing barangay roads, canals/creeks, landscaping, and communal gardening.

The DSWD Region 6 allotted P1,179,000 for the wages of 262 Bugasong workers.

It was implemented in 133 areas, including cities and municipalities in Western Visayas.

Under the program, PWDs who are physically capable of doing community work are given the opportunity, while their parents or guardians may work on behalf of those who cannot./PN
