ILOILO – An intruder was shot to death in Barangay Alapasco, Batad town around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5.
Juv Bigare, 19, succumbed to a gunshot wound to his chest.
Police Lieutenant Jaypee Silvestre, chief of the Batad Municipal Police Station (MPS), said Marlon Chavez, 45, heard someone was trying to pry open their back door.
“May tuyo gid ini siya (Bigare) magsulod kay ginbungkal ‘ya ang puertahan didto nga human sa light materials. Kag sa amon initial nga pagpangusisa sa barangay, may record ‘ni siya pero wala na nakaabot di sa amon sa station kay sa barangay pa lang guro na-settle na,” Silvestre said.
A homemade shotgun was used to Bigare.
“Homicide ini or murder ini ang kaso, depende sa makalap pa gid naton nga testigo kag ebidensya,” Silvestre also said.
Chavez is currently in the custody of the Batad police station./PN
