ANTIQUE – A total of 1,837 rice farmers in Patnongon town will receive P5,000 in financial assistance this week.
These farmers were registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) of the Department of Agriculture (DA). They will get their aid on Jan. 12.
But many more farmers are qualified recipients of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) Program of the DA.
“This is the first batch of registered farmers who will receive this assistance on Jan. 12, 2023. The financial assistance under the RCEF-RFFA Program will be paid out in batches. Hopefully, we will have the funds for the other batches really soon,” according to Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo.
Under the special provisions of the RCEF, the RFFA program provides unconditional cash assistance amounting to P5,000 to each rice farmer who is registered under the RSBSA and tills two hectares of land or less./PN
