ANTIQUE – Six students of the University of Antique were run over by a canter truck outside the campus in Barangay District 1 (Poblacion), Sibalom town around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victims were Rex Bacaoco, 21, of Barangay Patlabawon, Patnongon; Memia Miquez, 21, of Barangay Tula-tula, Sibalom; Shanvy Grace Sembrano, 20, of Barangay Lindero, Tobias Fornier; Mayren Joy Quintayo, 20, of Barangay Aureliana, Patnongon; Marry Angel Millamena, 20, of Barangay Dalipe, San Jose; and Joezeel Rubino, 18, of Barangay Nazareth, Sibalom.
All the students were brought to the Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial District Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The truck driver was Nethaniel Floyd Felizarto, 19, of Barangay Apgahan, Patnongon.
According to the Sibalom municipal police, Felizarto was inebriated and lost control of the steering wheel.
The truck driver was detained at the Sibalom police station./PN
