BACOLOD City – A security guard was gunned down by unidentified assailants on Mercury Street, Puentebella Subdivision, Barangay Taculing, this city, at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 10.
Officer-in-charge Captain Dax Santillan of Police Station 6 identified the fatality as Joserey Jaranilla, 51, of Purok Planeta, Barangay Taculing.
Jaranilla succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the victim going home from work at the BREDCO Port when a white Innova and a motorcycle tailed him.
Several empty shells of calibers .45, .22, and .9mm were recovered from the crime scene.
The Bacolod city police launched an investigation. No suspects have so far been identified./PN
