ANTIQUE β Fifteen Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 274 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) of the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) were promoted to their next higher rank.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Leo M. Francisco, led the simultaneous oath taking and donning and pinning of ranks on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The 15 APPO PCOs β three majors and 12 captains β attended the ceremonies at the Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City.
In Sibalom town, the 274 newly promoted PNCOs attended ceremonies at the University of Antique Cultural Center.
Also present during the ceremonies were Police Colonel Alexander G. Mariano, APPO director; Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Artillero, APPO deputy provincial director for administrations (DPDA); Police Lieutenant Colonel Angelo Pueblos, APPO deputy provincial director for operations (DPDO); unit commanders; and families of the newly promoted personnel.
Prior to this a thanksgiving mass was officiated by Fr. Gerald Lacson, parish priest of Sta. Rita Parish of Sibalom.
βThe promotion is not only a reward for what they have done but is also a recognition of their potential to do more, especially in these trying times,β said Francisco.
He also reminded the newly promoted personnel to continue what they have started, noting the positive results of their hard work.
In 2022, APPO conducted 13 successful operations against illegal drugs wherein 17 drug suspects were put behind bars. The operations also resulted to the confiscations of a total of 17.0818 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P116,156.00.
On its campaign against illegal gambling, a total of 129 operations were conducted and 399 suspects were arrested. Likewise, a total of P344,120.50 money bets were confiscated.
On its quest against loose firearms, Antique cops launched a total of 47 operations which resulted to the arrest a total of 48 persons and confiscations of 57 firearms. Also, 603 firearms were surrendered and/or deposited.
APPO was also able to neutralize 441 wanted persons last year./PN
