“Dirty Linen” actor Zanjoe Marudo and actress Ria Atayde have often been seen together since August 2022, sparking questions about the possibility of the two being in a relationship. Zanjoe is 10 years older than Ria, but it seems like the two have really hit it off.
Both Zanjoe and Ria are known to hang out with the same group of friends so it was also as likely that they were just really close. Just last November, Zanjoe and Ria traveled to Tokyo, Japan with friends Joshua Garcia, Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Robi Domingo, and Maiqui Pineda.
Though Zanjoe and Ria have been quite low key about their budding relationship, they also don’t hide their togetherness from the public. Aside from their outings with friends, the two have also been spotted spending time together with family.
Last November 2022, Zanjoe was present at the birthday celebration of Arjo Atayde, Ria’s brother. Ria’s mom, Sylvia Sanchez, posted pictures that included Zanjoe. She even had a personal message for the actor.
It was in late 2022 that Sylvia herself shared how Zanjoe and Ria were getting closer to each other, though at that time there was nothing official yet.
In any case, the veteran actress has promised her support for her children. She has always been close to them, and is candid about her support not just for them but for their chosen partners as well.
“Kahit sino ang mamahalin ni Ria, ok sa akin,” declared the doting mom.
It seems that Zanjoe is indeed welcome in the Atayde family, especially as the actor joined Ria’s family on a trip abroad. Last Jan. 6, Sylvia posted photos of their family vacation to Taiwan. It was quite expected that Arjo’s fiancé, actress Maine Mendoza, was present. What did capture the attention of netizens was the presence of Zanjoe in the group.
In a recent interview with journalist Karen Davila, Zanjoe confirmed what the public have been wondering about. In fact, Zanjoe had no reservations about going public with his relationship with Ria.
“Yes,” he confirmed straight out. “Parang it’s out in the open naman na, so yes.”
The two are just starting out as a couple, so they are still at the point of enjoying each other’s company. (PUSH)
