ILOILO City – Parianon, Jalaud and La Paz tribes are this year’s Dinagyang 2023 champions.
From Molo district, Tribu Parianon was declared grand champion of the Dagyang sa Barangay competition while Tribu Jalaud from Calinog, Iloilo won the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan contest.
Tribu La Paz representing La Paz district, meanwhile, made history as the first-ever Dinagyang Ilomination champion.
Tribu Parianon and Tribu La Paz each won P1 million cash prize and trophy while Tribu Jalaud brought home P400,000.
Tribu Parianon also won three technical awards: Best in Music, Best in Choreography and Best in Performance.
Other winners in the Dagyang sa Barangay tribes competition were Tribu Molave kang Salog as first runner-up and Tribu Sagasa as second runner-up with P200,000 and P1,000 cash prizes with trophy, respectively.
Tribu Molave kang Salog also bagged the People’s Choice Award, Best in Production Design and Best in Costume Design and Headdress.
Tribu Panaad was Best in Discipline.
Each winner of the technical awards got P10,000 cash prize and a trophy.
For Kasadyahahan sa Kabanwahanan, other major awardees and their respective prizes were the following:
* Guban Manughaw-as sang Dumangas from Dumangas, lloilo – first runner-up (P200,000 cash prize and trophy);
* Tribu Madja-as from Culasi, Antique – second runner-up (P100,000 cash prize and trophy); and
* Pasalamat Festival from La Carlota City, Negros Occidental – third runner-up (P75,000 cash prize and trophy).
The Kasadyahan champion, Tribu Jalaud, was also Best in Costume, Best in Choreography, Best Costume Designer, and Best in Street Dance.
Kasadyahan Festival Committee chair, Dr. Eden Deriada, said all non-winners will also get P50,000 cash prize each.
On the other hand, other major winners of the Dinagyang Ilomination were Tribu Mandurriao as second runner-up and Tribu Molo as first runner-up. They received P200,000 and P100,000 cash prizes plus trophy, respectively.
Also, here are the Dinagyang Ilomination technical awardees:
* Tribu Molo – Best in Lighting, Best in Choreograhy and Best in Performance;
* Tribu Jaro – People ‘s Choice Award, Best in Production Design and Best in Discipline;
* Tribu Tribu Mandurriao – Best in Costume Design and Headdress; and
* Tribu La Paz – Best in Music.
Each of the special awardees received P10,000 and a certificate./PN
