ILOILO City – Two policemen of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) assisted a woman deliver her baby, earning praises from netizens.

Police Staff Sergeant Resurrecion R. Aliponso Jr. of the San Lorenzo Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Police Corporal Joe Ben Moleño of Sibunag MPS were patrolling J.M. Basa and Arsenal streets, City Prope, around 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, when they chanced upon pregnant Charlane Lobaton, 27, about to give birth.

Charlane was with her husband Juanito, 31. Both were from Zone 3, Barangay San Juan, Molo district.

“Due to the immediate action of the police officers, the woman safely delivered a baby girl, and afterward, they were brought to the nearest hospital for further medical attention,” read part of the report by the San Lorenzo MPS.

The cops were applauded for showing dedication to their work as public servants, especially in times of emergency.

Augment personnel Aliponso and Moleño were sent by the GPPO to Iloilo City to help secure peace and order during the Dinagyang Festival./PN
