ILOILO City – A suspected drug runner was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Rockers, Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz district, at around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, Jan. 25.
The arrested Roger Detamayo, alias “Jake Patiño”, 18, is under the care of the operation’s main subject, Michael Parreño, 40, a tricycle driver. Both were residents of the above-mentioned place.
“Bali si Roger Detamayo nga ini, gin sapopo lang ni siya sang aton nga subject person nga si Michael Parreño. Indi man ni mahambal nga gin adopt pero dira na bali ga tinir sa iya si Roger kag daw gin kabig niya na nga bata,” said Police Major Jose Val Ladublan.
Police said Dematayo was instructed to hand over a sachet of suspected shabu to what turned out to be a poseur buyer for P5,100.
Two additional sachets of suspected shabu, weighing six grams and with an estimated market value of P40,800, were recovered.
Meanwhile, Parreño was able to evade arrest.
Ladublan added that their monitoring took almost three months.
Detamayo will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
