77,983 ePhilIDs issued in Guimaras in 2022

GUIMARAS – To augment the rollout of Philippine Identification (PhilID), a total of 77,983 e-Philippine Identification (ePhilID) were released in the island province of Guimaras in 2022.

The ePhilIDs are the printable digital version bearing the same information as the physical PhilID.

Of these, 23,133 were released in Buenavista, 14,300 in Jordan, 18,737 in Nueva Valencia, 10,216 in San Lorenzo, and 8,823 in Sibunag.

“Guimaras was able to reach more than the 34,000 targets last year,” said Provincial Statistical Officer Nelida B. Losare.

Releasing of the ePhilIDs is done by appointment; the registered person is the one who will claim his/her ePhilID in the registration renter, or through printing and delivery.

Explained Losare, the portable document format (PDF) of the printable ePhilIDs is password protected. The central office downloaded these to the provincial offices for printing and verification/validation before delivering them to barangays.

On Oct. 3, 2022, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to expedite the issuance of 50 million PhilIDs by the end of 2022. Of these, 30 million are PVC types, and 20 million are printed on paper.

“Every registered person will still receive their physical card even if they have already claimed their printed ePhilID,” Losare added.

Losare added that to avail themselves of the printable ePhilID, the applicants may check the availability of their printable ePhilID using their transaction number in the transaction slip issued after completing registration.

The applicant can set an appointment at: appt.philsys.gov.ph for printing to the nearest PhilSys center or via walk-in.

Losare also said that all of their personnel were trained during the Data Privacy Security & Fraud Awareness Training Orientation on Dec. 16–17, 2022. (With report from PSA-Guimaras)/PN
