BACOLOD City – Two cousins died “on the spot” when their motorcycle crashed into the rear of a parked cane truck in Hacienda Mag-as, Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Alvin Bendoy, 19, and Nathaniel Conde, 18, were residents of Barangay Bagtic, Silay City.

The cane truck was driven by Elmer Tapalla, 28, of Mabinay, Negros Oriental.

Police Staff Sergeant Ryan Calalas said the cousins were heading home after attending the Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City. The impact destroyed the motorcycle, and both victims suffered extensive injuries.

Calalas said the cousins failed to notice the early warning device Tapalla installed.

Tapalla is in the custody of the Talisay City police, awaiting a decision from the victims’ families on whether they will press charges or not./PN
