ILOILO – An ex-convict was arrested in Barangay 10, Poblacion, San Miguel, Iloilo, at around 1:40 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6.
Nelson S. Marcel, alias “Tatang”, 69, of the said barangay, handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.
The San Miguel police further recovered 13 small sachets of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P20,000.
“Gapahimuyong ko ya, wala ko ya gagamit, wala man ko gabaligya,” said Marcelo. “Ang kaso ko ya sang una marijuana to ya, kag dugay naman to ya.”
Police Major Sullen Domingo, chief of the San Miguel police, said the drug suspect was arrested in Jaro, Iloilo City in 2006 for illegal drugs and was released from jail in 2016.
The suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
