BACOLOD City – The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized over P4 million worth of suspected shabu in a drug buy-bust operation in the city’s Barangay 1.
This late Thursday night (Feb. 9) haul is so far the biggest narcotics confiscation in the city this year following Feb. 4’s operation in Barangay 10 where operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu.
In this latest operation, the police also arrested a suspect – 29-year-old Diony “Urag” Cabrillos and 22-year-old Eric Aguirre, both residents of Barangay 1.
A subsequent search yielded a total of seven plastic sachets and seven plastic bags of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 600 grams and valued at P4,080,000, police said.
Based on information released by BCPO-CDEU, both suspects were tagged as high-value drug targets and have been placed under close surveillance for several weeks prior to the operation.
The suspects, now detained at Police Station 2, are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
