No organized drug groups in WV – RDEU-6

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) has not monitored organized drug groups in Western Visayas.

Huge volume of shabu was seized in the recent anti-drug operations across the region but from individual drug suspects, according to Police Major Rommel Anicete, RDEU-6 chief.

Based on their intelligence monitoring, Anicete said drug suspects preferred to operate individually and based on an “order system” to avoid being arrested.

“We observed na kapag magbenta sila ay solo lang, walang grupo at mabilis ang pag-dispose ng kanilang stock. They are afraid to be arrested kung magtagal ang droga sa possession nila,” Anicete told Panay News.

PRO-6 record showed P7 million worth of shabu was seized from Feb. 20 to 26 and 80 drug suspects were arrested.

“We will continue our monitoring especially those newly identified drug pushers. We are  asking the help of the community by giving us information so that we can conduct operation against them,” Anicete added./PN
