BORACAY – Another cruise ship visited Boracay Island.

MS Westerdam, operated by Holland America, made her maiden port call to northern Aklan’s top tourist destination on Friday, March 3.

It is the second cruise sailing with guests after the port call of MS Seabourn Encore in February, which carried approximately 560 cruise passengers and 482 crew members.

The 14-day cruise of MS Westerdam from Feb. 27 to March 13 (Singapore to Yokohama) would visit ports in Singapore, Puerto Princesa, Boracay Island, Manila, Kaohsiung and Keelung (Taiwan), Ishigakijima Island (Japan), Naha (Okinawa), Kochi City and Yokohama (Tokyo). It carries 1,964 passengers and 800 crew members.

Another liner, MS Oceania Nautica, cruises from Singapore to Keelung on a 10-day voyage (March 1 to 11) that included visits to Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei), Kota Kinabalu, Puerto Princesa, Boracay Island, Manila, Kaohsiung, Hualien (Taiwan) and Keelung, Taipei City.

She is set to sail to Boracay Island on March 6 with 824 passengers and 386 crew members.

MS Seven Seas Mariner would also be heading out to Boracay Island on March 8 for a 15-day cruise from Benoa (Indonesia) to Keelung (Taiwan).

As travel restrictions were lifted, Boracay Island would also enjoy a busy cruise season./PN
