John Rey Galve, 25, was a resident of Barangay San Felix, Iloilo City.

“Green guards” John Paul Confesor and Rico Laurence Diones were roving when Galve was caught pushing Confesor’s motorcycle about 30 meters away from where it was parked.

Galve also had a knife, a pair of scissors and assorted weapons believed to have been used in the robbery.

The suspect is charged with carnapping and violation of City Ordinance No. 138 for illegal possession of a deadly weapon.

Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) spokesperson, Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, said Galve had prior violations of the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 and the Anti-Child Abuse Law and was a former tokhang surrenderee.

The ICPO lauded the green guards’ alertness and courage, and reminded everyone to be vigilant./PN
