BACOLOD City – Suspected marijuana plants and dried leaves were recovered in Purok Catugasan 1, Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental yesterday, March 22.

Suspect Khieno Rubaton, 34, was a flower vendor.

Authorities were conducting a marijuana eradication operation in the area around 10:25 a.m. when they spotted the suspect.

Seven fully-grown and seven newly-grown uprooted suspected marijuana plants and 125 grams of dried suspected marijuana leaves valued at P6,250 were recovered.

The operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit-Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.

Rubaton is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
