KATHRYN Bernardo is excited for all the new exciting projects she is set to do this year. After turning 27 last March 26, she said she is open to doing more daring and mature roles onscreen.
“It feels the same. Same lang talaga (laughs). Simple lang naman talaga this year ‘yung gusto ko but then this is like bonus pa kasi ang daming magagandang nangyari to start my 27th birthday.
“Maybe I’m really excited now kasi kakasimula pa lang, tapos ang dami na agad nangyayari and mangyayari this year until the next year. I’m just really overwhelmed and grateful na nandito ‘yung mga taong gumagabay sa akin,” she shared.
Aside from announcing her first movie project of the year under Star Cinema called “A Very Good Girl” which also stars internationally acclaimed actress Dolly de Leon, Kathryn also revealed that she will also be doing her first Black Sheep Productions project.
“First time ito kasi through the years talaga I’ve been with Star Cinema and first time ako tatawid sa Black Sheep which is a sister company of Star Cinema. The title is ‘Elena 1944’ and it is with my deep pride and honor that this movie will be directed by Inang Olivia Lamasan,” she shared.
The Star Magic artist explained she first heard of the project in 2019 when it was first presented to her.
“This was pitched to me pre-pandemic. But then, nung pinitch ‘yun sobrang ganda ng material. Pero siyempre nandun ‘yung takot, medyo marami ka pang kailangan kausapin at i-consult kasi hindi pa ako sensitive at hindi pa ako ready for these kinds of roles.
“But then parang the universe made a way. So na-stop muna ‘yung project and I was happy na hindi ko pa siya ginawa. Andun lang siya. And then pinitch nila ulit sa akin. And then fast forward, nandito tayo ngayon,” she explained about the project’s delay.
“I turned 27 and mas ready na si DJ (Padilla), mas ready na si mama, and ‘yung mga fans. ‘Yung fans most specially I think ready sila. And ako personally alam ko na nung tinanong ako ni Inang (Olivia Lamasan) na parang gusto ko na siya gawin kasi buo na ‘yung puso ko na gawin siya. Perfect kung kailan namin ipapalabas and it’s a very nice project,” she said. (PUSH)
