ROXAS City – This city was hailed as champion in the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) 2022 Digital Governance Awards (DGA) at the National Museum of Natural History in Manila recently.
The city government’s entry, “Automated Collection Management Information System (ACMIS),” ruled the Government Internal Operations (G2G) category. This was the first time the city got the award.
“Indi lang ini basta award, pagkilala ini sa pagtinguha naton pinaagi sa aktibo nga in-house ICT office agud mangin ‘Digital City’ kita, centralized kag konektado ang mga datus kag sistema sa tagsa ka talatapan kag frontline service providers. Napadasig kag napahapos naton ang dalagan sang business permit processing kag pagbayad sang real property tax paagi sa automation system,” said Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
The city also won a special award as DGA 2022 Huawei winner for garnering the highest points in the results of different categories.
Of the 31 local government units (LGUs) who joined, 25 were declared winners in the main categories and six received special citations for their innovative and transformational projects.
DGA is an annual event recognizing LGUs’ best practices in utilizing ICT for the effective and efficient delivery of public services to local communities and business stakeholders.
This is a joint project of the DICT, Department of Interior and Local Government, and National ICT Confederation of the Philippines.
Aside from Roxas City, other LGU winners from Western Visayas were Iloilo province (champion, Provincial Level – Business Empowerment Category; Libertad, Antique (champion, Municipal Level – Interoperability Category (G2I); Negros Occidental (3rd place, Provincial Level – G2I; and Mina, Iloilo (3rd place, Municipal Level – Customer Empowerment category./PN
