ANTIQUE – The online tax system of Libertad town in this province bagged the first place under the Government Internal Operation Category of the 2022 Digital Governance Awards.
The Digital Conference and Digital Governance Awards Ceremony was held at the National Museum of Natural History in Metro Manila on March 30.
Mayor Mary Jean Nicopior-Te, together with Municipal Information Officer II Jay F. Tumbukon and Municipal Assessor Officer EnP. Arnel D. Villaruel, received the award.
Nicopior-Te said the “eAmilyar” is a homegrown system used to collect tax on land and real properties.
Due to the eased process, tax collection in Libertad increased in 2022.
“Automated run ang aton proseso, nga sa gamay lang nga click sa aton computer, magaguwa run ang impormasyon parte sa aton mga real properties sa banwa kag kung pira ang aton nga baraydan. Dahil kadya, madasig run ang aton nga pagbayad kang buwis kag nagtaas ang aton koleksyon umpisa kang aton dya gin-deploy kang nagligad lamang nga tuig,” said Nicopior-Te.
Aside from this year, Libertad was also recognized in the Digital Governance Awards in the past years.
For the 2020 Government to Government Category (G2G), the town won second place for “Project iComSys” of the Municipal Planning and Development Office.
For the 2021 Government to Business Category (G2B), entry “eWaterworks” of the Municipal Economic Enterprise Development Office won first place.
“Ang aton gid nga pagpasalamat kay Mr. Jay Tumbukon kag EnP. Arnel Villaruel nga nagpanguna sa pagbalay kang dya nga sistema pagpadali kag pagpanami kang aton nga proseso sa pagkolekta kang amilyar sa aton banwa,” said Nicopior-Te.
The mayor also thanked the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) for the award. /PN
