BACOLOD City – The tourism industry of Negros Occidental is now back to normal, post-coronavirus disease (COVID) 2019 pandemic, according to Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) head Cheryl Decena.

In yesterday’s radio interview, Decena said some tourism establishments recorded a 100 percent room reservation booking during the Holy Week.

The Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary also recorded a 100 percent booking rate between Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, she said.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Negros Occidental was next to Boracay Island with the highest number of tourist arrivals in Western Visayas.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson hopes that with the improving situation, they would like to reach the spot again./PN
