BACOLOD City – A fire that razed the Cabacungan Public Market in La Castellana, Negros Occidental around 1 a.m. yesterday left an estimated P7 million worth of damage.
Eighteen stalls were totally damaged, according to Fire Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, provincial fire marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Negros Occidental.
Legaspi also confirmed that no one was hurt in the fire.
As of this writing, arson investigators of the La Castellana Fire Station were still determining the cause of the fire.
Negros Occidental 5th District’s Cong. Emilio Yulo III said yesterday was supposed to be Barangay Cabacungan’s “market day”.
He extended financial assistance to the affected stall owners./PN
