BACOLOD City – The mayor of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental reimposed the mandatory wearing of facemasks inside the city hall after two employees tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said he noticed that people entering the city hall were no longer following simple health protocols.

Thus, before an outbreak could take place, he ordered that facemasks are now mandatory in all city government offices.

The city mayor revealed the two employees who have fallen ill with COVID-19 were department heads. The City Health Office already conducted contact tracing.

Escalante advised city residents to remain cautious and keep themselves healthy as COVID-19 remains prevalent./PN
