Visayas leg of annual science forum set

THE National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Offices – Visayas Cluster, is set to conduct the Visayas Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya para sa Demokrasya (Science and Technology for Democracy)” on April 26 to 27, 2023 via Zoom and Facebook Live.

This yearly event aims to discuss the role of science and technology in achieving greater inclusion and welfare and to present the utilization of science and technology in strengthening democratic institutions and processes.

The Visayas Regional Scientific Meeting will be hosted by the NAST PHL Agricultural Sciences Division (ASD) and Biological Sciences Division (BSD), and will have the following plenary sessions:

* Plenary Session 1: Food Security and Agrarian Reform

* Plenary Session 2: Access to Quality Education

* Plenary Session 3: Fisheries Governance

* Plenary Session 4: Climate Change, Marine and Fisheries Resources

* Plenary Session 5: Developing Blue Economy in the Visayas

Also highlighting this year’s RSM is the annual scientific poster contest that will feature the latest regional and innovative R&D outputs of participating higher education institutions, research centers, and government agencies.
