BACOLOD City – Elements of the Himamaylan City Police Station in Negros Occidental apprehended 16 individuals for allegedly engaging in illegal gambling and cockfighting.
The 13 suspects arrested for violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974, were: Ricky Casisi, Nenito Bolivar, Ugie Superal, Micheal Paul Gonzales, Shalwin Gante, Peter Jhon Celestial and Dominador Crispe, residents of Binalbagan town; Rudy Endoso, Joeffrey Vega, Nikko Peleno, Joefren Ursua, Ricky Magsito and Jeyfee Hortellosa, residents of Himamaylan City.
The three others facing charges for illegal gambling were Gonsalo Casisi, of Binalbagan; Joniel Trinidad and Robert Endoso, both residents of Himamaylan City.
The operation was led by Himamaylan City Police Station deputy chief-of-police Major Ellendie Rebusquillo at around 2:10 p.m. on April 23 in Sitio Libon, Barangay Nabalian, Himamaylan City.
Confiscated during the operation were P960 bet money, three fighting cocks, two P5 coins, and a concrete board, or tumbu-an.
