MANILA – Durable. Reliable. Easy reparability.

These are three essential qualities that define the world’s leading power tool manufacturer, Bosch’s Skil.

To mark its 90th anniversary, Skil recently launched its latest product lineup, which includes Lithium-ion powered cordless screwdrivers, drill drivers and impact drills.

“We are fully committed to enhancing the quality of life with more revolutionary and affordable products,” said William Go, Bosch power tool country sales director.

Go boasted that Skil products are “innovative” and provide “holistic” customer experience.

Their tools are not only priced right, but they are also under six months to one year warranty, the official added.

With at least 20 authorized service centers and a growing number of dealers in the country, Skil, which started in 1924 in Louisiana, U.S.A., is more than determined to build strong partnerships with their local suppliers.

Skil came to the Philippines in 2006, ten years after Bosch Power Tools and Accessories acquired them.

“Our partnerships with our regional retail partners enable us to connect with more people across the country,” said Martin Valenzuela, Skil brand manager.

They will also continue to bring Skil’s product excellence to end-users, Valenzuela said.

Skil is scheduled this month to setup its 56th basketball court in Tacloban City in the Visayas region, as part of its social corporate responsibility.

Its “Paint the Town Red” initiative reaches out to select communities where Skil builds basketball courts for the community members to enjoy.

They also conducted basketball clinic for the youth, and vocational training for community members.

Coach Norman Black, Skil brand ambassador, said that they also handed out power tools to select barangays here to be used for their livelihoods.

Black hoped their initiatives would inspire more real users and youth.

Skil said that they have also been concentrating their efforts in building classrooms, libraries and community centers for typhoon “Yolanda” victims in Eastern Visayas.

“We are a great believer of education,” said Andrew Powell, Bosch managing director for the Philippines./PN
