CAPIZ – Discussions on a dredging project in Capiz have taken off.
On April 27, Gov. Fredenil H. Castro led the organizational meeting of the Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) and the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the said undertaking held at the provincial capitol.
The meeting focused on the dredging and cleanup of heavily silted rivers to lessen flooding in the province.
Presented during the meeting were the guidelines for the IAC on how to carry out the project and the rules and responsibilities of the TWG.
Priority areas for the project were also determined, a legal and enforcement team was created, and other activities related to the project were discussed.
The meeting was attended by different stakeholders, including the Department of Public Works and Highways, Provincial Engineering Office, Environment Management Bureau, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Planning Development Office, Philippine Coast Guard, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Capiz./PN
