Voters’ files safe from flooding–Comelec

BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in this city assured voters that no files had been damaged by floodwaters that entered its office.

On Sunday afternoon, April 30, heavy rains caused flooding and affected several government and business establishments.

The Comelec office is situated beside the BAYS Center, adjacent to the Reclamation Area, which experiences flooding during heavy rains.

Comelec officer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said some bond papers and files got wet. But the computers containing the voter’s registration files were safe, she added.

Caña also said they will transfer office once the construction of a new one is finished./PN
