AKLAN – A knife-wielding man tried to rob two women in Sitio Lugotan, Barangay Manocmanoc, Malay around 10:40 p.m. on May 3.
But Beverly May Leones, 21, of Barangay Libertad, Nabas, Aklan and Jowelyn Sinag, 23, of Barangay Toledo, Nabas fought back.
Police identified the suspect as Jerry Gabay, 25, of Barangay Rizal, Odiongan, Romblon but is temporarily residing in Boracay Island.
Gabay took Leones’ cell phone and stabbed her in the stomach and hand. When Leones had the opportunity, she pulled the suspect to a well-lit place to identify him. Both fell during the struggle, but the suspect was able to stab Leones in the thigh.
Gabay is currently being held at the Malay Municipal Police Station. (With a report from Brigada News FM Kalibo)/PN
