Fish vendor nabbed for ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – A fish vendor was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo district.

Dutch Castillo Taasan, 30, of Barangay Tanza Baybay sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P2,000 to a police poseur buyer around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 4.

A total of six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.5 grams and with a standard drug price of P3,400 was recovered.

Taasan is tagged as a street-level suspect who allegedly sourced suspected shabu from Bacolod City. 

The operation was conducted by the Iloilo City Police Station 6 (Arevalo PNP) Station Drug Enforcement Team, led by officer-in-charge Police Captain Mavin R. Laraño.

The suspect is currently held at the Arevalo PNP and faces charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
