ILOILO – Two policemen were dismissed from the service for involvement in illegal drugs.

One was under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) while the other was with the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), according to Police Major Mary Grace Borio, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

The two were part of the five police personnel from the city and province of Iloilo linked to illegal drug activities.

The three others (all from the IPPO), however, were exonerated.

“Na-found out nga negative ang information against sa ila kag gin-validate man naton, that is why na-exonerate sila sa ila nga kaso,” Borio told Panay News yesterday.

PRO-6 data showed that a total of 30 police personnel from Western Visayas were charged for alleged illegal drug links between March 1, 2021 and March 3 this year. Of these, 23 have been dismissed from the service./PN
