ILOILO – Three houses caught fire in Barangay Poblacion 1, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo around 3 a.m. on Thursday, May 18.
Two houses, owned by Roland and Natty Belleza, were destroyed, while Linda Belleza’s house was partially gutted.
Senior Fire Officer (SFO4) Jerry Abay, acting fire marshal of the Barotac Viejo Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said in an interview with RMN Iloilo that the fire started in Roland’s house.
“Sa aton nga cause of fire ongoing pa gid ang aton investigation,” said Abay.
No one was hurt in the incident.
“Suno kay Roland, ginpukaw lang ini siya kag pagbugtaw niya dako na ang kalayo so nagwa na lang sa ila nga balay kag magpalayo kag wala may nasalbar nga gamit,” Abay added.
BFP estimated the property damage at around P431,500.
The affected families temporarily stayed at the evacuation center./PN
