ILOILO City – A theft suspect was collared in Block 22, Barangay PHHC, Mandurriao district.

Ana Pedrajas, 49, of Barangay Poblacion, Oton, Iloilo was arrested by the Mandurriao Police Station around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, for allegedly stealing her former landlord’s wallet which contained around P25,000.

The Mandurriao police later discovered that Pedrajas had a pending arrest warrant.

In 2008, an estafa charge was filed against her by her cousin.

Police also found multiple identification cards with different names but with the suspect’s face.

Police Captain Val Cambel, officer-in-charge of the Mandurriao police, said Pedrajas was targeting landowners.

She was operating in Panay and Guimaras islands, added Cambel.

As of yesterday afternoon, 19 victims had appeared before the Mandurriao police.

According to Elsie Calanggonan of Barangay Trapiche, Oton, one of the victims, she was enticed because she needed the money. Calanggonan entrusted Pedrajas with land titles and P50,000./PN
