ILOILO City – The newly installed acting director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) would not allow any police officer in Western Visayas to be involved in illegal activities.
Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, in a press conference yesterday, said he will intensify internal cleansing and focus on the morale and welfare of his men.
He will also run after high-value drug personalities.
Nearly 3,000 police officers across the country are being monitored for alleged involvement in illegal activities, latest data from the Camp Crame showed.
According to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Benjamin Acorda Jr., the figure represents about 1.31 percent of the 228,000-strong PNP force all over the country.
Villaflor clarified that of the nearly 3,000 cops, none were from the PRO-6.
He is also set to meet with the city and provincial police directors today to talk about the peace and order situation in the region.
“Sa pagkaka-alam ko walang scalawags dito sa Region 6 pero we need na pa-igtingin ang internal cleansing and we need to continue monitoring, ” Villaflor said.
He said efficient and effective training and learning development and capability build-up will be conducted.
“Under my watch the morale and welfare of the entire PRO-6 will be one of the top priorities. We will give honor and credit to those who work well and prioritize the uplifting of the morale of both the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel./PN
