BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival 2023 was “generally peaceful”, according to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
BCPO spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana said no major incidents took place during the three-day festivity, which wrapped up on Sunday night, May 28.
Gabana thanked the public for their cooperation as well as the force multipliers who helped secure peace and order.
More than 600 personnel from the Bacolod City Police Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Bacolod Traffic Authority and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office were deployed.
The Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival kicked off on Friday, May 26, after a hiatus due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
The city’s famous chicken dish was laid out on a 320-meter-long grilling station and cooked by 70 concessionaires in one of the festival sites during the highlights.
The grilling event, which showcased around 3,000 sticks of various chicken parts, can be considered the longest in the Philippines, according to Councilor Celia Flor, festival co-chairperson.(With a report from PNA)/PN
