ILOILO City – Six drug suspects were arrested in Barangay San Juan, Molo district around 2:50 a.m. yesterday, June 13.
The buy-bust operation also yielded nearly half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu and firearms with ammunition.
Police tagged Glenn Sarasa “Nonoy” Deslate, 35; Gerald Marcelo “Pal-ak” Gevero, 28; and Jay Alson “Rambo” Constantino, 37, as high-value drug suspects.
The three others were Estanislao Vito Hinojales, 44; Eduardo Española Juatas, 22; and John Vincent Marcelo Gevero, 22.
All six were residents of the said barangay.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Iloilo City Drug Enforcement Unit and Iloilo City Police Station 4-Molo.
The suspects were monitored for almost two months before the arrest, according to Iloilo City Police Office director Colonel Joeresty Coronica.
“Ang mga na-confiscate ang kabug-aton is more or less 70 grams, so pag-multiply mo sa P6,800 ang total value is P476,000,” said Coronica.
He added: “May ara kami na-monitor nga may kaso sila — homicide, ang iban murder, may ara man attempted murder. We are still verifying if ini nga mga kaso naga-exist pa or na-dismiss na,”
Recovered were one zip-lock containing dried marijuana leaves, three weighing scales, one improvised 12-gauge shotgun, five live .9mm ammunition, three pieces of lighter and one .9mm caliber revolver, among others.
“May ara sila mga armas, delikado gid. Kung may opportunity, mabato gid ni sila,” added Coronica./PN
