4 Indian nationals hurt in stabbing

ILOILO City – Four Indian nationals figured in a stabbing incident and sustained wounds in Barangay Guzman Jesena, Mandurriao district around 1:10 a.m. yesterday, June 14.

Dhaliwal Parvinder Singh, 40; Kulwant Singh, 23; and Kamlpreet Singh, 23, temporarily reside in the above-mentioned place.

Dhaliwal sustained an incision on his left arm; Kulwant had a stab wound on his right side; and Kamlpreet had two stab wounds on his back. They were being treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center.

While suspect Azadwinder Singh, 35, was also under medication at The Medical City Iloilo for a stab wound on his left chest.

Police Major Val Alan Cambel of the Mandurriao Police Station, in an exclusive interview with Panay News, said the three went to the suspect to talk. However, with Azadwinder inebriated, the misunderstanding escalated to a stabbing.

“According sa ginkuha namon nga interpreter, kay not all can speak fluently sang aton nga lingwaheginbastos ni Azadwinder Singh ang isa sa mga anak sang tatlo nga ini over the phone and na-discover nila,” Cambel said.

He added: “Gapangita kita sang additional footage kag witnesses dira sa palibot. We are trying our best nga makakuha additional information, ang ila sini nga pagtinir diri sa Philippines kung may mga passport ini sila nga gina uyatan./PN
