WEDNESDAY, this week, was an exceptionally good day for it rained! Not only that it also poured by nightfall careening into dawn creating a glorious cool night! It was hot and dry for over a week, nah, for nearly two weeks, so the rains were a welcome respite. Thank you, Lord, for the rains.
As we embed in the community courtesy of Woman Talk with Belinda Sales airing every Saturday, 2:00-3:30 p.m. at 91.1 Balita FM Tagbilaran City, we also desire to provide a space in our column for the goings-on in our home province and city.
So, for this column, letâs do the community billboard.

Bohol power reliability
In a development long overdue, a peopleâs forum on Boholâs Power and Energy Resilience is set on June 20, 2023, beginning at 8:30 a. m. to 4 p. m. at JJâs Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City.
According to event organizers, the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology, in partnership with the German foundation Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and youth networks Youthlead Philippines, Inc. and Kabiling Lunhaw, âThe forum aims to bring together different stakeholders from the province to identify opportunities and recommendations to strengthen Boholâs energy security and disaster resilience in light of climate emergency and increasing costs of diesel and other fossil fuels.â
Forum organizers intend to gather critical energy stakeholders; present energy plans and studies from various institutions; and identify policy recommendations to push a hundred percent renewable energy roadmap for Bohol.
We hope the invited key stakeholders will commit to attend the said forum out of their involvement and foresight for the province.

Clearing of dangling wires in Bohol
Consistent with our push to clear, bundle, and practice good housekeeping of dangling and messy distribution wires, telecommunication system cables and wires, and even posts, we asked Boardmember Aldner Damalerio for an update since his office crafted the proposed ordinance on the subject.
According to the provincial legislator, âAn agreement has been reached among the technical groups of BCCTV, Globe Telecom, PLDT, BOHECO I, BOHECO II, and Bohol Light Company, Inc. on the standard height of wires crossing streets and intersections, the type of posts to use, and color coding of wires for easy identification in case of repair and replacement.â
However, they still need to resolve the nitty-gritty of the Task Force functions and responsibilities which will be tackled in another meeting.
Fingers crossed these will be resolved soon.
