ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) procured 5,000 pieces of drug test kits.
These test kits will be used exclusively for organic police personnel to ensure that PRO-6 remains free from illegal drugs.
The procurement was made possible through the Philippine Anti-Drug Strategy (PADS) fund, according to PRO-6 acting director Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor.
A ceremonial turnover will be held today, June 19, at the PRO-6 Administration Building after the flag-raising ceremony.
He further said this was part of the five-focused agenda of Philippine National Police chief Benjamin Acorda Jr., specifically on police integrity enhancement.
“This is my way of checking my personnel’s integrity and commitment to their sworn duty. As law enforcers, they must have moral ascendancy as they do their best in our war against illegal drugs,” said Villaflor.
On May 29, all 34 key officers took an unannounced drug test, including the regional staff with their respective deputies, personal staff, admin officers, and aides-de-camp. All tested negative for illegal drug use./PN
