Molo drug bust nets P81K ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Over P81,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered from two suspects in Zone 1-A, Barangay San Juan, Molo district at about 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20.

Gilbert Saraza Deslate, alias “Apple”, 36, was the operation’s main subject. He was monitored for three weeks before the sting operation.

Also arrested was Jhossar Patiñio Lacson, alias “Nonoy”, 29. Both suspects were residents of the said barangay.

A police poseur buyer bought from the suspects one plastic sachet of suspected shabu for P7,000, according to Captain Benjie Dicen of Molo police station.

Nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 12 grams and valued at P81,600 were recovered.

The police also found two digital weighing scales and a cellphone unit.

The two suspects are currently in the custody of the Molo police station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
