ILOILO City – The driver of the Navarra pickup truck sustained injuries after crashing into a laundry shop in Barangay Oñate De Leon, Mandurriao district past 12 midnight on Thursday, June 22.
Vince Castillon, 28, of Barangay Pakiad, Oton, Iloilo did not notice the curved road because the area was dark and the streetlights were not functioning.
“Bali ang salakyan gabyahe halin sa [Barangay] Oñate pakadto sa plaza Mandurriao. Pag-abot niya sa may kurbada, nag-overshoot siya sa may liku-on kay naga ulan-ulan abi kag dulom ang dalan,” said Police Master Sergeant Toto Karl Petalco in an interview with Radyo Bandera Iloilo.
Castillon was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center for proper medical treatment.
The top portion of the pickup truck and the laundry shop’s concrete pillar and roll-up were destroyed.
Meanwhile, the laundry shop owner is ready to settle the damages.
“Gina-estimate pa sa subong sang tag-iya sang laudry shop ang damages,” Petalco added./PN
