FILIPINO-American guard Jordan Clarkson is not planning to move to another team this offseason as he is finalizing a three-year contract extension with Utah Jazz, according to reports.
Clarkson, a one-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee, is reportedly signing a $55-million contract extension that will last until the 2025-2026 NBA Season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported.
The early contract agreement between Clarkson and the Jazz is a welcome development as the Filipino-American player can now focus on his Gilas Pilipinas stint in the 2023 FIBA World Cup to be held in the Philippines this August.
The 31-year-old Clarkson played a huge role for the rebuilding Utah squad in the just-concluded 2022-2023 NBA Season, where he averaged a career-high 20.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 61 games.
Three-point gunner Eric Gordon, meanwhile, has agreed to a two-year contract with Phoenix Suns with player option on his second year, days after being released by Los Angeles Clippers.
Gordon, a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner, opted to join the Suns despite enticing offers from Golden State Warriors and former team Houston Rockets.
Justin Holiday, on the other hand, is joining the reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets on a one-year contract with the amount of the deal not specified.
Holiday will serve as an off-the-bench player for the Nuggets, which recently lost rotation players Bruce Brown to Indiana Pacers, Jeff Green to the Rockets and Thomas Bryant to Miami Heat.
Cody Zeller also moved on to another team after a one-year, $3.1 million contract with New Orleans Pelicans, while Lonnie Walker IV will sign a one-year deal with Brooklyn Nets.
Golden State Warriors also upgraded their point guard by signing Cory Joseph to a one-year deal, while Miles Bridges has signed a $7.9 million qualifying offer with Charlotte Hornets.
Luka Garza will be returning to Minnesota Timberwolves via a two-way contract as Sacramento Kings also agreed to a two-way deal with Keon Ellis./PN
