CAPIZ – This province logged 286 dengue cases with three deaths so far as of July 1 this year, according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

This is 6.54 percent lower compared to the same period last year, with 306 cases.

The towns with dengue cases are Tapaz (78); Roxas City (54); Panay (40); Dumalag (15); Pontevedra (14); Dumarao (12); Sigma and Dao (with 10 each); Mambusao (9); Jamindan and Pilar (with eight each); Cuartero and Panitan (with seven each); Ivisan (six); President Roxas and Sapian (with three each); and Maayon (two).

The three deaths, or a 1.05 percent case fatality rate, were from Panay (two) and Mambusao (one).

Meanwhile, clustering of cases are recorded in barangays Tanza Norte, Poblacion Ilaya, Agbanban, Tanza Sur, Cogon, and Barangay Lomboy in Panay town and in Barangay Switch in Tapaz town.

The most affected age group is 10 to 19, which comprised 27.27 percent of the total cases./PN
