KALIBO, Aklan – Police rearrested a drug suspect who was released through a plea bargaining agreement.
The 53-year-old Manolo Cenon of Barangay Tamalagon, Tangalan, Aklan was busted after selling sachets of suspected shabu in Numancia town around 12:34 p.m. on July 7.
Police said Cenon allegedly sold two sachets of suspected shabu to undercover officer for P3,000 at an inn in Barangay Bulwang, about 200 meters from Kalibo Numancia bridge.
Operatives of Aklan Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) in coordination with the Numancia police station also recovered a medium sachet of suspected shabu weighing five grams, aluminum foil, lighters, cash amounting to P230, leather wallet, and mobile phone from the suspect.
Cenon admitted using shabu prior to the anti-illegal drug operation. He, however, denied being engaged in illegal drug activities.
Aklan PDEU chief Major Frensy Andrade said the suspect was placed under surveillance for two months prior to the buy-bust.
“Nag-o-operate ang suspek sa mga bayan ng Malay, Boracay Island, Kalibo, Tangalan at Numancia sa mga dating drug surrenderee. May bulto ang kanyang ibinebenta,” he added.
Cenon was previously apprehended in a buy-bust operation in 2014.
He will face charges for violation of Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”./PN
